Brushes

A good brush is expensive, and it does make a difference.
We recommend the best brushes you can afford. Try to bring at
least two flats (1.5" and .75") and two rounds (#12 and #6).
Paper

We often use D'Arches watercolor paper and Fabriano Artistico 140 lb. cold pressed. Paper quality can make a difference on end results. Bring your favorite sketch
book or pad. Spiral bound
books of watercolor paper work great for travel. Blocks of paper are convenient though they may buckle
when wet.

Boards

When working with large size sheets, you will need
a solid, light weight board about 18" x 24" to support the paper. Gatorboard works well.
Other
Things
Some things you may want to bring include: camera, brushes, palette, sponges,
water containers, spray bottle, cloth rag or paper towels, pencils, pens, knife,
masking liquid, eraser, portable easel, stool or folding
chair, and umbrella. For your physical comfort you should probably bring: wide brimmed
hat, and comfy shoes for trekking around, sun block, and insect repellent.
